About Pond Hockey

Pond hockey sessions are times when anyone meeting the age requirements for the session can come to the Subway Sports Centre and play pick-up hockey. 

During these sessions, players will typically divide into two teams and play a scrimmage game if there are enough players.  There are no referees present, and players usually do a good job of supervising themselves. 

The skill levels of players vary widely for these sessions, anywhere from novice to advanced.  The maximum number of players allowed per session is 20 skaters and 3 goalies.  A session is considered closed when those numbers are reached. These sessions have age requirements and there are no exceptions made for players under age to play. 

Full hockey equipment AND helmet are required.
All players are to have at least a HALF SHIELD attached to their helmet.

The cost per person is $10 a session. Some sessions are age specific.

 Player Cost:  $8
Goalie Cost:  FREE

Space is reserved on a first come, first served basis for 20 players and two goalies.  Players may begin signing up for the days session 1 hour prior to starting time.

Noon Pond Hockey is scheduled most weeks Monday through Friday, however, during Holidays, Tournaments, or other Special Events there may be cancellations.
